A full 60-minute visit in your home and neighborhood. Your dog gets an unhurried walk with time to sniff freely, feeding, playtime, and a complete home check.
Walks take place in your dog’s neighborhood and nearby green spaces. We do not transport dogs in vehicles.
Every visit is GPS-tracked and documented with photos sent to your phone before we leave.

The Science Behind the Walk
Most pet care visits are rushed. A sitter arrives, tops up the bowl, walks the dog around the block, and leaves. We built Adventure Walks around a different philosophy because the research supports a different approach.
Dogs experience the world primarily through scent. One sniff can carry more information than a paragraph of text. When a dog is free to stop, investigate, and work through an interesting smell, their brain is firing in ways that a fast-paced trot simply cannot replicate. Studies in animal cognition consistently show that dogs allowed to follow their nose exhibit significantly lower cortisol levels and greater calm in the hours afterward.
This is sometimes called a decompression walk or sniff walk. Twenty minutes of this kind of sensory engagement can tire a dog more thoroughly than an hour of repetitive movement because the brain is doing real work. Our sitters are trained to slow down and let your dog lead.
What a Full Hour Looks Like
Your sitter arrives and greets your dog on their terms, giving them a moment to settle before heading out. We walk your neighborhood at your dog’s pace, not ours. If they want to spend three minutes investigating something in the grass, we let them. That is not wasted time. That is the point.
When we return, your dog gets fed on their regular schedule, a water refresh, and any play they still have energy for. We check your home, bring in packages, water plants, and confirm doors and windows before we leave. A GPS-confirmed visit summary and photos go to your phone before your sitter walks out the door.
