The Adventure Walk: A Full Hour Built Around Your Dog

Most dog walks are about distance and time. Get the dog out, get back, check the box.

The Adventure Walk is different. It is a full 60 minutes of unhurried, sniff-led exploration in your dog’s own neighborhood, structured around how dogs actually decompress.

The Science Behind It

Research in animal cognition shows that when dogs are allowed to follow their nose freely, investigate at their own pace, and move without being pulled toward a destination, cortisol levels drop more significantly than after faster, goal-driven walks of the same duration.

Your dog comes home tired in a different way. Not just physically spent, but genuinely settled. Calmer at rest, less reactive, more focused. Dog trainers call it a “sniff walk.” We built a full service around it.

What Every Adventure Walk Includes

  • 60 minutes of in-neighborhood decompression time: Your dog leads. The sitter follows.
  • GPS-tracked route: Full walk recorded and logged
  • Photo update: At least one update during the walk, sent to your phone
  • Visit report: Delivered through the client portal when the walk is complete
  • Feeding and fresh water: Provided if scheduled as part of your pet’s routine
  • Home check: Doors, windows, and security confirmed before the sitter leaves

Who This Walk Is For

The Adventure Walk is a strong fit for:

  • High-energy dogs that come home from a standard walk still revved up
  • Dogs that pull, lunge, or struggle to settle after shorter outings
  • Dogs in recovery from anxiety, reactivity work, or a big life change
  • Any dog that you feel deserves more than a 20-minute loop around the block

It is also a good option as a once-or-twice-a-week supplement to daily shorter walks. A lot of our clients book a standard walk for the weekdays and an Adventure Walk on the weekend.

The Walk Stays in the Neighborhood

Every Adventure Walk takes place in your dog’s own neighborhood, not at a trail or off-site location. This is intentional. Familiar surroundings lower baseline stress before the walk even starts. Your dog already knows this territory. They can focus on exploring it rather than orienting to somewhere new.

It also means no transport. Your sitter arrives at your door and the walk begins from there.
